Designed around a flexible Core, Base and application printed circuit board (PCB) concept, it features many of the system functions and wired communications protocols found in today's embedded applications.
- Altera Corporation - Developing Complete Video Systems, using Altera’s Video Image Processing Suite
- This seminar will discuss solutions for video pipeline functions, including IP, integration and test. Solutions incorporate 15 IP cores, from scalers, frame buffers and video interfaces with SOPC Builder for simple integration. Users can develop a complete system without HDL, including memory arbitration, and manage everything from a simple Nios based C API.
- Analog Devices, Inc. - High End Analog to Mems
- MEMS Motion Signal Processing™ and iSensor™ simplify the adoption of motion sensing for design engineers. This session will review a signal chain design solution implementing these technologies.
2:00PM–3:00PM Seminars Track II
- National Semiconductor - High Speed Signal Integrity...EYE Can See Clearly Now
- Demonstrations and technical review of board level issues related to increasing data rates up to 12Gbps. Whether you’re using PCIe 2.5G / 5.0G, SDI, HDMI, DVI or pushing the limits of your PCB layout, signal integrity is becoming more challenging. This session will discuss methods and technologies that can help solve those signal integrity issues, thus improving the quality of your design and reducing your time to market. This session will review board layout considerations, as well as active and passive equalization solutions that will allow use of CAT5 cables and National products.
- Freescale Semiconductor – USB on the Run
- This session will discuss quick and easy implementation using USB High Speed, Full Speed, and OTG technology.
- Linear Technology – What Your SerDes is Missing
- Digital designers may be all too familiar with the challenges of routing high-speed digital lines between analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and logic devices. Great care must be taken routing high-speed traces as well as ensuring the digital signals do not cross analog boundaries. Poor layout results in digital switching noise feeding back to the ADC’s analog input ports to degrade the overall system performance. With board real estate at a premium and FPGA pins a valuable commodity, the advantages of serial interfaces over parallel are obvious. This session provides an overview of the available interfaces and discusses a new, 2-wire serial interface specification that has evolved to the point that it enables a new generation of data converters that connect directly to the SerDes port.
- Honeywell Sensing and Control – Integrated Sensor Designs
- With reductions in sensor size and improved IC capabilities, the ability to integrate smaller, more intelligent solutions into customer applications has become a real option in the electronic design cycle. The ability to integrate calibration, signal filtering and self-diagnostics enables a shorter design cycle, improved manufacturing and the possibility of vendor reduction through the elimination of discreet components. The option to incorporate multiple sensing technologies, such as pressure and temperature, into one package reduces the number of components and eases integration. This sessions will discuss design considerations such as data transformation, signal filtering, A to D conversion, self-diagnostics and other key parameters. We will also review the potential benefits that result from a more integrated sensing approach.
- STMicroelectronics – Low Power Bluetooth Wireless Module
- This session will review a low power Bluetooth 2.1 design. Bringing together the best-in-class STM32 32bit ARM Cortex-M3 controller with the industry's lowest power STLC2500D Bluetooth chip, engineers will learn how easily incorporating an embedded Bluetooth solution in their design can become a cost effective reality.
- Renesas Technology America, Inc. - H8 MCU's with LCD Direct Drive Technology
- This session will discuss both 16-bit and 32-bit solutions, which utilize LCD Direct Drive Technology supporting direct connectivity to digital RGB TFT-LCD panels. This technology is focused for engineers looking for an easy to use, low cost MCU solution for controlling QVGA to WVGA TFT-LCD panels.
